Details for Case #45

This patient is a thirty-four old mother of two children who came to my Brookline, MA office from Rode Island to discuss tummy tuck Boston. She is a healthy young woman who has lost all of the weight that she gained with pregnancy; however, still had excess skin of the lower abdomen. She did not like it that her lower abdominal skin hung over her pants.

During our Boston plastic surgery consultations we discussed her expectations from her abdominoplasty as well and the location of the incisions that would be used. Her tummy tuck was done as an outpatient, meaning that she returned home the day of her surgery. Patients are easily able to manage themselves the thin drainage tube that is placed beneath the skin during an abdominoplasty. The swelling associated with an tummy tuck begins to resolve a few days after surgery and is largely gone a few weeks following the surgery.

This patient’s pre-operative and post-operative photographs demonstrate the improvement of the abdominal contour that is seen with a tummy tuck. The stretched out skin of the lower abdomen is removed and the abdominal wall muscles are tightened during the surgery. Her tummy skin no longer hangs over her jeans. Her incisions which are already fading in these photographs will continue to fade for several months following her cosmetic surgery Boston.
