This patient is a forty-two year old woman from Boston’s South Shore who came to my Brookline, MA office to discuss tummy tuck Boston. She has two grown children, and she recently lost approximately ninety pounds. She came to the office interested in improving the shape of her abdomen as well as removing fat from her flanks (love handle area) and upper back. She is a healthy active mother of teenage children and she also works full time.
During our plastic surgery consultations we discussed a combined approach to her body contouring, an approach that combined tummy tuck and liposuction in a single operation. Combination abdominoplasty and liposuction is a safe procedure for this patient and enabled her to minimize her recovery time and maximize her results with a single surgery.
Her surgery began with liposuction of her back and flanks and the proceeded to the full abdominoplasty. The liposuction removed fat from beneath the skin in the areas that skin redraping would give her good body contour. The full tummy tuck enabled me to tighten and tone the abdomen while tightening the abdominal wall muscles.
She spent one night in the hospital following her surgery. She began to resume light activities the day after surgery and she quickly returned to managing her busy life within a few weeks of her surgery. She is quite pleased with the improvement in her overall body contour and happy that she combined her tummy tuck Boston with liposuction.
