This twenty-nine year old mother of two children came to my Brookline, MA office from Boston, MA because she wanted to improve the contour of her abdomen. She gained approximately thirty-five pounds with her pregnancies. Despite losing weight to her pre-pregnancy weight, she was left with stretched out, inelastic skin of the lower abdomen which hung over her pants.
During our consultations we discussed her expectations from her tummy tuck Boston. She could expect her hanging abdominal skin to be removed, her abdomen to be toned and her sit-up muscles to be tightened. She spent one night in the hospital after her plastic surgery Boston and returned to her home the day after surgery. I placed a thin drain beneath the skin of the abdomen in order to collect fluid from the abdomen. The drain is easily managed by patients at home and is removed in the office a few days after surgery. She resumed her full activities within a few weeks after her surgery. The incisions continue to fade for weeks and even months after surgery.
As seen in the photographs, the shape of the abdomen is greatly improved with her tummy tuck. She is not able to wear snug fitting pants and shirts without an unsightly bulge in the lower abdomen or excess skin hanging over the top of her pants.
