Details for Case #10

This 27 year old mother of two children came to my Boston cosmetic surgery office from the Worcester Massachusetts area to discuss breast augmentation surgery. Although she was leaving open the possibility of having more children in the future, she wanted to proceed with breast augmentation in Boston. Women are able to and can safely breast feed after breast augmentation surgery with saline or silicone implants.

This patient chose a full round augmentation without a bulging upper portion of the breast. She has a wide chest and breasts; a lower profile relatively large breast implant will best accomplish her goals. She chose the inframammary incision which will remain well hidden under her breasts.

In the operating room I placed Mentor implants under the chest wall muscle and filled each implant with 400cc of saline. Placing the implant under the chest wall muscle decreased the risk of capsular contracture – the implant capsules becoming hard. For this reason, most breast implants are placed under the chest wall muscle.

Following her Breast augmentation surgery in Boston, she recovered quickly. I do not use drains or tight wrapping after my breast augmentation surgery. Patients leave the operating room with a bra on and are able to switch to a sports bra whenever they wish. Her breasts are now more in proportion to her hips, yet her breast shape is very natural. Her inframammary incision is well hidden under her breasts.
