This twenty four year old registered nurse came to my Brookline, MA office to discuss cosmetic surgery Boston. She maintains an active lifestyle in addition to working full time. She was interested in a breast augmentation Boston which would give her fullness of her upper breasts.
During our Boston plastic surgery consultations we discussed the idea of breast fill volume which is the implant volume necessary to fill the patient’s breast soft tissue envelope to a full but straight sloped upper breast. Because this patient wanted some roundness to the upper breast, she chose an implant slightly larger than her estimated fill volume. I estimated her fill volume to be 275cc and she chose a 325cc implant. At surgery High Profile silicone gel filled breast implants were placed beneath the muscle using an incision under the breasts (inframammary).
Her recovery from surgery was smooth; my patients typically return to normal daily activities the day after surgery. Because I create the implant pocket with surgical precision rather than pulling and tearing the muscle, I do not use drains or tight wraps after surgery. My patients are allowed to shower the day after surgery and encouraged to go out from the house the day after surgery.
