This twenty five year old woman came to my Brookline office to discuss cosmetic surgery Boston. She was interested in breast augmentation to give her a full bust and improve her body proportion without a tight round appearance to the upper portion of the breasts.
During our breast augmentation Boston consultation we discussed how large of an implant would be necessary to fill her breast tissue completely without resulting in roundness in the upper breast. Based on my physical examination I estimated her breast fill volume to be 350cc and this is the implant size that she chose. Her surgery was a periareolar incision for placement of the implant beneath the muscle. I used a Moderate Plus Profile silicone gel filled implant.
This patient’s rapid recovery is typical for my patients who typically return to normal daily activities the day after surgery. Because I create the implant pocket with surgical precision rather than pulling and tearing the muscle, I do not use drains or tight wraps after surgery. My patients are allowed to shower the day after surgery and encouraged to go out from the house the day after surgery. I have many go out to dinner, to kids soccer games or even host a baby shower the day after their breast augmentation Boston surgery!
