Breast Augmentation Case
Details for Case #11
This patient is a 24 year old nurse from southeastern Massachusetts who came to my Brookline office to discuss
breast augmentation Boston. She is a single mother interested in filling out the stretched soft tissue of her breasts and also returning to work as quickly as possible.
During our Boston plastic surgery discussions we talked about the differences in her breasts. Breast asymmetry is quite normal and varies among patients. In this patient’s case her right breast is slightly larger than her left breast and the inframammary fold is slightly higher on the right than the left. After deciding on a breast augmentation Boston of 275 to 300cc, she chose saline implants over silicone gel filled implants; both are good choices for her. She is a good candidate for an inframammary incision or a periareolar incision; however, the shape of her breasts makes an axillary incision not optimal.
In the operating room I used the periareolar incision that she chose to place the implants in the pocket beneath the muscle. The periareolar incision provides excellent access especially when the inframammary folds are asymmetrical preoperatively. Mentor High Profile implants provided the best breast shape for her. I filled the right implant with 275cc of saline and I filled the left implant with 300cc of saline to compensate for the size difference of her breasts.
As shown in her postoperative photographs she has natural looking breasts and the implants have filled out her soft tissue quite nicely. She rapidly returned to caring for her child and her job as a nurse. She is quite happy with the results of her breast augmentation Boston.
