Breast Augmentation Case
Details for Case #16
This 29 year old woman from Cambridge came to my Brookline office for a consultation. She is a model and wanted a breast augmentation with very full upper breasts. She did not want an incision of the bottom of her breast.
During our consultations at my Boston cosmetic surgery office we carefully discussed the implant size necessary for her to have upper breast fullness. She chose a 400cc saline implant augmentation using an incision in the areola. The areola incision allows good visualization when it is necessary to lower the inframammary fold, as in this case. The incision within the areola heals well and is almost always very difficult to see once it has healed.
At the time of surgery I placed Mentor moderate profile implants beneath the chest muscle and filled each implant to 400cc. Following her
breast augmentation in Boston she left the hospital fitted with a surgical bra which she was free to change to a sports bra at any time. I do not use drains after breast augmentation, nor do I wrap patients up tightly and not allow them to change the dressing. I encourage patients to be active after the surgery.
Following her surgery she quickly returned to modeling pleased with the results of her breast augmentation.
