This 21 year old woman who works in the health care industry came to my Boston plastic surgery office to discuss breast augmentation. One of her friends recently underwent breast augmentation in Boston by me and she is very pleased with the results of her surgery. This patient was interested in achieving a full C-cup breast after the surgery. She is a very active yong woman and has had no children.
Although near her 22nd birthday (women must be at least 22 years old in order to choose silicone gel filled implants for their breast augmentation) this patient was interested in saline filled implants rather than silicone implants. She chose an incision around her areola and I recommended that the implant be placed under the chest wall muscle. She chose an augmentation of 375cc and I used Mentor Moderate Plus Profile implants.
She recovered from her surgery quickly. I do not use drains during my Boston breast augmentations, and I allow my patients to switch from the surgical bra to a sports bra the day after surgery if they wish. This patient’s rapid breast augmentation recovery was typical and she returned to her normal activities including a return to work very shortly after her surgery.
