This thirty year old woman from north of Boston came to my Brookline, MA office to discuss breast and body contouring. She lost over one-hundred pounds following laprascopic gastric bypass surgery. Her weight had been stable for over one year. She wanted to improve the shape of her breasts and her abdomen. During our cosmetic surgery consultations we discussed combined breast lift and augmentation surgery along with abdominoplasty. These operations, one of the procedures we sometimes refer to as a “Mommy Makeover” can generally be safely performed at the same surgery. This patient was one of my many patients who had her breast and body surgery at the same time. She had a full breast lift with placement of 375cc saline breast implants beneath the chest wall muscle. She also had a full abdominoplasty with removal of the excess abdominal skin and tightening of the skin and abdominal wall muscles. She spent one night in the hospital following her surgery and began to resume light activities the day following her surgery.
