This patient is a fifty-five year old woman from west suburban Boston who came to my Brookline, MA office to eyelid surgery Boston, MA. Her concern was the heaviness of her upper eyelids which actually impaired her line of vision and made her constantly look as though she was angry.
During our plastic surgery Boston consultations we discussed eyelid rejuvenation. Her lower eyelid aging was not as advanced as was her upper eyelid aging. Therefore we choose to only perform an upper eyelid blepharoplasty. At surgery I removed excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids only. Her post operative photographs demonstrate the dramatic improvement possible with blepharoplasty. After surgery her eyes are a more youthful almond shape and she does not appear to be angry. Removing the excess skin from her upper eyelids also improved her line of vision.
Eyelid surgery is a safe procedure that requires approximately one week of down time. The surgery is performed in our office operating suite or in the hospital. You will be able to go home shortly after the procedure. Of course eyelid surgery can be combined with other procedures if you wish. The results from blepharoplasty are seen immediately and are permanent.
