This fifty five year old woman from Cape Cod, MA came to my Brookline, MA office to discuss eyelid surgery Boston. Her concern was that she was beginning to notice heaviness of her upper eyelids. Her pre-operative photographs show a slight descent of the eyebrows which contributes to heaviness of the upper eyelids. She has excellent skin tone and very youthful appearing lower eyelids.
During our plastic surgery Boston consultations we discussed the pros and cons of an eyebrow lift at the time of her blepharoplasty. She and ultimately decided against the brow lift and this patient underwent an upper eyelid blepharoplasty. She has a nice shape of her eye pre-operatively and the purpose or her eyelid surgery was to refresh the eyes and lighten the appearance of the upper eyelids. Notice in the poet operative photographs that her eyes appear more vibrant in the frontal views. Notice also the side views which nicely demonstrate the improvement by removing excess skin.
Eyelid surgery can be performed alone, as this case demonstrates, or can be combined with other procedures as needed. Eyelid surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning that patients return home shortly after surgery. Belpharoplasty can be performed either in the hospital or in our office surgical suite.
