This patient is a 39 year old woman from Canton Massachusetts who came to my Boston cosmetic surgery practice for consultation wishing to address the “deflated” appearance of her breasts following childbirth. Her goals from breast augmentation included full and natural looking breasts that were in proportion to the rest of her body.
Over the course of our consultations, we discussed her particular soft tissue characteristics and how her tissues would accommodate the breast implants. She used implant sizers to visualize the fullness she could expect from breast augmentation surgery. She also examined hundreds of photographs of breast augmentation surgery that I have performed. She ultimately decided upon an augmentation of 460cc using an incision around the nipple and the implants placed under the muscle.
At surgery I developed the implant pocket below the chest wall muscle using a periareolar incision. I used Inamed style 68 (moderate profile) implants each filled with 460cc of saline.
As seen in her postoperative photos, she has achieved a natural and proportionate look with her breast augmentation. Although implants this large would result in a bulging upper breast for many patients, for this patient they were necessary to adequately fill out her breasts. She is quite pleased with the results of her breast augmentation surgery in Boston.
